Overview
Swimcast helps you download podcast episodes and copy them to a folder you choose, such as the storage folder for MP3 swim headphones. The app does not require an account.
Information We Do Not Collect
Swimcast does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, microphone data, camera data, or the contents of your audio files.
Podcast And Sync Data
When you choose podcasts, Swimcast fetches podcast feeds and audio files from the podcast providers’ servers. Those providers may receive normal network information, such as your IP address, as part of serving the feed or audio file.
The app stores your selected podcasts, sync status, purchase state, free-sync state, and selected device-folder bookmark locally on your device using iOS storage. If you delete the app, this local app data may be deleted by iOS.
Analytics
Swimcast may use PostHog event analytics to understand whether the app is working well and where users get stuck. Analytics events may include app version, build number, bundle identifier, StoreKit storefront routing, event names, counts, sync status, error domain/code, and hashed values derived from podcast IDs, feed URLs, audio URLs, and selected folder names.
These hashes are used so we can understand broad behavior without sending raw podcast URLs, audio URLs, or folder paths.
Swimcast disables PostHog session replay, element autocapture, network telemetry capture, and crash autocapture.
Purchases
Swimcast Plus is sold as a one-time in-app purchase through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the purchase and provides purchase status to the app. Swimcast does not receive or store your payment card details.
Third-Party Services
Swimcast uses these services:
- Apple StoreKit and App Store services for in-app purchases.
- Podcast providers’ RSS and audio hosting servers for feeds and episode downloads.
- PostHog for event analytics where analytics are enabled.
Legal Basis
Where GDPR applies, app functionality is processed to provide the service you request, purchase status is processed to perform the purchase relationship, support email is processed to respond to your request, and analytics is processed based on consent or another applicable legal basis depending on the final analytics configuration.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to provide the app experience, respond to support requests, fix bugs, improve reliability, and meet legal or platform obligations.
Selling Personal Information
Swimcast does not sell personal information.
Data Retention
Support messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and maintain a reasonable support history. Local app data remains on your device until you delete it or iOS removes it. Analytics data, where enabled, is retained according to the configured analytics provider settings.
Children
Swimcast is not directed to children under 13.
